Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (7CD)
PTSD is traditionally treated with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which focuses on a traumatic event or season in your life. This has been proven to be effective in many people’s lives. The downside, however, is that there are not enough therapists around to deal with the flood of new cases, and many people do not have access to a skilled therapist.
For those who are on the Do It Yourself track in life, this album provides an alternative – a grab bag of tools that can be used at home, for free. Some of the techniques will require a partner, but the partner does not have to be professionally skilled – only empathetic.
Our approach is holistic in that we look not just at the emotional dynamics, but also at the brain itself since rewiring can change the game, and at the role of the spirit in enhancing the process of brain renewal.
At the end of the day, the heart of this strategy is a restoration of your dignity. PTSD has a random factor to it that is demoralizing. You can wake up feeling fine, head to work with eagerness to execute, only to be derailed unexpectedly. This costs you dignity.
Then to be at the mercy of a medical environment that forces you to fit your pain into their convenience can be further degrading.
The tools in this set are not an easy magic wand. They will require work – lots of it. Our proverbial 100,000 steps apply to this strategy. But the point is, the steps are doable. You can begin to take control of the way your brain functions by seizing the opportunities in an ordinary day to walk out brain transforming exercises.
And this restores your dignity and builds your hope, while you are on the journey to wholeness.
This is a 7 CD set.
