Although it is optional to set up an account with us, we recommend that you set up an account when placing your order. A customer account allows you to store your order history and shipping status, and more rapidly make future orders with us.

Shipping rates and time frame
Shipping rates and time frames are subject to items shipped, shipping destination and your choice of carrier. We suggest that customers choose the option which will offer the best value to them.

We endeavour to get all orders processed within 1 business day, but order processing may occasionally be delayed due to:

  • Large promotions & events taking place in our store.
  • Holidays - When ordering around a holiday date, orders will take longer to be processed.
  • International shipping - customs issues may cause delays.
  • Weather conditions.

Orders placed Friday to Sunday will be processed the following Monday. 

Note for International Orders (outside Canada and the US)
The cheapest rate usually available is Canada Post's "International Packet Surface." Please note that this service can take up to 3 months to reach you (or longer outside of urban centres) and does not provide a tracking number. We highly recommend you select at least "International Packet Air" instead.

Product description
We strive to be as accurate as possible in describing our products. If you find a product that you've ordered is not as described, we will be happy to exchange it following our returns policy on this page.

Except where noted otherwise, the price displayed for products on our website represents the full retail price listed on the product itself, suggested by the manufacturer or supplier, or estimated in accordance with standard industry practice. Despite our best efforts, it may happen that an item in our catalogue is mis-priced. If a drastic error has occurred in pricing we reserve the right to cancel your order and offer a full refund.

Undeliverable Packages
On occasion, packages are returned as "undeliverable". In such cases, we will issue a full refund (minus the shipping charges). If a package is deemed lost as a result of our error, we will refund the order. However, if the order is lost because of customer error, the charges will not be refunded. We are unable to re-ship orders that are returned to us as undeliverable. If you would still like to purchase items that were undeliverable, you are welcome to place a new order on our website. If you suspect your order cannot be delivered, and you have not received confirmation of its return or a refund, please contact us.


We will happily replace a damaged or defective item for a refund or store credit. All refunds and returns must be approved by our staff.

Within 30 days of delivery of your shipment, you may return any of the items to Attwell Books according to the following stipulations:
  • All returned items must be accompanied by proof of purchase.
  • Defective items will be replaced free of charge. Items that have not been cared for properly by the customer are not considered defective and will not be replaced or refunded.
  • We will not refund opened media products such as CDs or DVDs. If upon testing they are indeed found to be defective, we will replace with the same item.
  • Returned media items must be in new condition with original packaging and accessories. We cannot accept returns of products missing the serial number or UPC. We require at least 24 hours after receiving the item to test the CD or DVDs. We will contact you within the next business day with our results, with the exception of busy periods or public holidays.
  • Opened shrink-wrapped products will not be refunded.
  • Returns of books are allowed only with a receipt if they are in resell-able shape. For example, books must not be dog-eared, bent, warped or stained.
  • All product packaging materials - including boxes, manuals, warranty cards, and any other materials in the original shipment - must be returned with your merchandise.
Please not that we cannot refund or exchange opened items, items returned more that 30 days past delivery or items not accompanied by receipt or proof of purchase unless prior written permission has been given by Attwell Books staff. We can only process returns and refunds for items purchased at Attwell Books.

We'll notify you of your refund via e-mail after we've received and processed the returned item. You can expect a refund in the same form of payment originally used for purchase within 7 to 14 business days after we receive your return. There will be no refund on shipping costs.
